Before Midnight - A Portrait of India on Film, 1899 - 1947 (PG)
Monday 7 April 6.30pm
The Courtyard Hereford

Before Midnight offers highlights from the BFI National Archive's unparalleled collection of films exploring life in India during the early 20th century. Featuring over 25 films and extracts the programme offers an unrivalled portrait of how lives - both Indian and British - were led across the Subcontinent from the Northwest Frontier to Lahore, Rajasthan to Darjeeling and beyond. Some of the most potent records here are to be found in the home movies, recording intimate portraits of Indian and British family life, major state affairs and everyday life in the cities and villages.
The programme will be introduced by Catherine McGahan from the BFI National Archive
